About

Dasia Hood, performing as “Hood Deity,” is a poet, spoken word artist, and curator whose work explores multidimensional self-expression, divine reclamation, emotional intensity, and sensuality. Her love for the craft was passed down by her mother, who taught her the power of journaling as a vital tool to process life’s complexities, spirituality, and passion.

Extending this practice to the wider community, Hood teaches poetry across multiple generations to foster communal healing and celebrate poetic expression within Black culture. She carries this dedication to raw, transformative truth into her daily life as a mother, the founder of Dark & Divine®, and the creative director and editor of Dark & Divine Journal.
